sunil707
Hello Forum, My family (wife and daughter) and I am GC holder since October 2007. It was an employment based GC. Unfortunately I never joined the original GC sponsor company due to economic downturn in USA. I left that company even before my labor got approved. In short, my GC processing still continued and we got the GC. 1. It's been over 3 years since we became eligible to apply for citizenship. Someone told me that there is a risk if I apply for citizenship as it may be tough for me to prove that the job I was doing was similar to the job that was mentioned in my Labor. But it will be OK if I apply after five years (10 years after getting GC) as USCIC go back only 5 years to track the employment records. Question-1: Is this correct information? 2. My daughter is planning to get married to a H1B holder. His GC processing has yet not been started. Question-2: Can my daughter apply for citizenship without me applying for the same? Will there a question on my employment for her citizenship processing? Thank you for your help... Link to comment
