Is it possible - Porting EB3 to EB2/EB1

Hi,

 

Let me explain my scenario and I would like to know if I'd ever be eligible for EB2/EB1.

 

I have 10 years of experience with the same organization geographically.

 

2 years (India)

18 months (Australia)

6 years (USA)

 

Currently my PERM has been filed in EB3 by considering the experience of India/Australia.

 

I'd be leaving US end of this month and be awaiting for the I-140 to extend my current H-1B.

 

With me leaving the country and returning after 6 months, I'd still be under the 5 years minimum for EB2. Does that mean I'd never be able to file under EB2.

 

When I eventually get promoted to Associate Manager / Manager, would I be eligible for EB1 - considering my experience as manager will be accrued with the same organization is US.

Not all managerial positions are eligible for EB1.
