Passport with Visa Stolen including Original I797

Hi,

 

I have travelled from India last month. My hand bag has been stolen which has Passport with Visa, all ID cards and Original I797 document as well. I have given police complaint.

I have applied for New passport which may come in 2-3 days. But when I go India, I need to get my Visa stamped.

Next week I have to go India for 10 days for emergency. Can I go for Visa Stamping with copy of I797, police report and other documents? If not, how much time it will take to get duplicate copy of I797? Will there be any premium processing for getting duplicate copy of I797 as early as possible. Please suggest me.

A copy of I797 is enough for visa stamping. But, most of the time original is asked at POE.
