I have couple of questions on US citizenship process. Please let me know your answers or pass it your corresponding attorneys/friends to get some feedback.

Consider, a candidate met all the rules and regulations during his/her stay in US with the Green Card.

1.       When can we start our US citizenship application process (After 4 years and 6 months OR 4 years and 9 months)

2.       What happened to the minor child (Under 18) with lawful permanent resident status resident in US when one or both of the parents becomes US citizens – Automatically gets US Citizenship or not ?

3.       What happened to the minor child (Under 18) with lawful permanent resident status resident in India when one or both of the parents becomes US citizens - Automatically gets US Citizenship or not?

4.       What happened to the minor child (Under 18) without having lawful permanent resident status resident in India when one or both of the parents becomes US citizens - Automatically gets US Citizenship or not?

5.       Any rough idea about how long the US citizenship process will take?

The application can start up to 90 days before the continuous residency requirement is fulfilled, provided that all other requirements are fulfilled. That means 5 years minus 90 days (which is NOT the same as 4 years and 9 months...)

Permanent Residents always have to reside in the US. An LPR can't reside in another country.

And which children can get automatic US citizenship is explained all over the Net.
