Demand note with Employer

Hi,

 

I am currently on H4 (was transferred from H1 to H4 this year april). I took an amount of 5000 from my employer and signed an demand note saying i recieved the amount and if i terminate i need to pay an interest of 7 % per anum. I already paid $3000 when i was employee with him (they cut it from my pay check) but there is no proof that i paid them.

 

My Question is, can he proceed legally with that signed document if i don't pay the remaing amount?

 

Is there any solution for this?

Well, you have the pay check to show an amount was deducted from your salary.
