Nimmybiju143
Hi, Thank you for this awesome forum We would like to know if there is any issue being a US citizen to stay in india or anywhere else in the world for longer period of time.. Is there something like re entry permit needed ? we plan to come to US every year to work for few months .. Since We won't have any US address when we come will the immigration officers ask for US address & how will we be able to renew our US drivers license when it expires? And also for the tax purposes which address should we be using? Please let us know Thanks in advance Link to comment
jairichi
No issue at all. You can provide whatever address you are staying. Link to comment
JoeF
A US citizen can live wherever he or she wants, anywhere. However, you have to file US tax returns every year, even if you live abroad. You use your foreign address on the tax returns. If you don't live in the US, you don't need a US drivers license. You need a US passport. Link to comment
Nimmybiju143
Thanks for your reply..! We will be coming to USA every year for few months to work and then go back..! That's why we need to keep the US driving license .. To renew drivers license we should have a US adress correct? Also how about if any calls come for jury duty..? Thanks again Nimmy biju Link to comment
SoNearCitizen
Yes, you must always have a U.S address to issue you a driver's license, but you don't have to continue living there after the DL is issued. I believe calls for jury duty accompany a form where you can indicate why you are unable to perform the duty. Link to comment
