r_u_live
One of my friend is in this situation, around 5-6 yrs back when he was getting close to 6th yr of H1 and thought Comp A is delaying initiating the GC process so joined comp B(H1 xfer) and started working on remote project with comp B, without leaving Comp A. in couple months he found Comp A is initiating GC so he left comp B in around 4-5 months and then he was only working for comp A and later got 140 approved.. for that year he got two w2's and two I797's, do you think at any stage of GC it might be an issue ? jairichi
Was the remote work performed from US soil? Was a H1B petition filed or approved with new employer? Working for two employers without approval of H1B is unauthorized employment. Your friend is in trouble. Need to talk to an attorney. Link to comment
