Travel while H4 extension in process & husband's H1b extension approved 


Hello Gurus, Need your wise advice 

1. My H1B and my wife's H4 are valid until 03/2016 and are due for extension this month (180 days) 

2. We are travelling to India this December first week and back on Jan 17th 2016 

So I like to plan ahead based on your advices for the below 

If we apply for both our extensions next week. H1B extension in Premium and H4 extension (since there is no premium) in normal. I am pretty sure I will get my H1B extension approved before we travel but seeing current processing times for H4 extension, it might not be approved even when we return by Jan 17th 

1. Can me and my wife both go for Visa stamping just based on my H1b Approved extension ? 

2. If one is not possible and cannot be done atleast at port of entry when back to US they issue the I-94 expiry date for both me and my wife based on my approved H1b extension ? 

I am more concerned with my wife's H4 extension here.
