SOC Job Title and Code in PWD; and their effect on PERM

Dear all,

 

My company is preparing to submit the PERM soon. I recently discovered that the DOL determined Prevailing Wage Determination (PWD) that is being utilized for PERM application is listing an incorrect ‘SOC Job Code: 13-1071.00 and SOC Job Title: Human Resources Specialists’ than the one that should be, ‘SOC Job Code:  13-1041.07 and SOC Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialists’ a quite common title/code for this position in the industry). The proposed position is a core scientific position whereas the determined job tile is HR.

 

When raised this question with my company, they are saying that “there is no need to go for redetermination; this is a very common scenario and one that should not cause any issues in GC process.”

 

Though my company is assuring that it won’t be a problem, I am concerned how this inconsistent job title/code is going to affect the approval of PERM/ I-140 or in future, when I want to change company or port my priority date from EB3 to EB2.

 

Please suggest.
