JoeF
An EAD allows you to work, it doesn't require that you work. Link to comment

JoeF
You mean to say if there are no paycheck running after we get EAD and we are still in status? will that not affect GC Process If you are the primary applicant, you of course need to have a valid job offer for the GC. That has to exist throughout the process. But that's independent of an EAD. An EAD is work authorization, it by itself allows a person to work, it does not require the person to work. An EAD also does not provide any status. The pending I-485 provides a status, with a pending I-485 you are legal. Link to comment
