monirao
Hi, My Name is Mona rao I have a scheduled visa appointment for stamping on Sep 9th, 2015 at Hyderabad US Consulate. My passport expires on Feb 17th 2016. My Passport is valid only for 5 months on the day of my visa appointment(Sep 9th, 2015). 1) Is there any restriction that my passport needs to be valid for atleast 6 months, in order to attend for visa stamping? 2) If there are no restrictions on passport validity, can i re-enter into the USA with a passport valid for 5 months? can anyone please let me know, what are the best options i have right now? Any information on this is highly appreciated. Link to comment
jairichi
1. Yes, it should be valid for 6 months at least. 2. Refer 1. Get your passport renewed. Link to comment
susam
Hi Mona, I'm almost in the same situation as yours, could you confirm whether you got your passport renewed before your visa stamping or were you able to get your visa stamped and entered US with the remaining 5 months ? Minimum 6 months validity is needed for visa stamping. That is clearly mentioned in US consulate website. No exceptions. Link to comment
