Present and Previous employer

Hi,

 

I am bit confused, regarding below situation.

 

Currently I am employed at company A with last working day of 7th - Aug

I am currently working on approved h1b for A but haven't stamped it yet.

 

Company B has transferred my H1B and I am making a trip to India on 7th itself, stamp H1B with company B's I797 notice, I will come back on 31st and join company B.

 

Now when I am filling DS 160 it asks me my present employer.

 

I have two choices -

1) Present Employer - company B (Since my I797 based on which I am appearing for interview will be company B)

Previous Employer - Company A

 

2) Present Employer - Company A  (Since while filling the form, I am actually employed at company A.

 

Issues with 1) If I put company B as present employer, I am not able to put Company A in previous employer as last date is a future date, as today is 31jul and last day is 7th aug. 

 

Issues with 2) If I put company A as present employer, it doesn't seem right. Because during interview I am not employed and more importantly the basis of my H1b visa is Company B's I797 so I think present employer should be B.

 

Can you please suggest which one is more apt.

 

and If I go by Option 1) can i fill ds 160 with company A's last date as today, take appointment of around 12-13th aug and on August 8. Fill in new Ds-160 and somehow apply it to my visa appointment file. I read it in blogs that it is possible to do so, but not sure how. Can you please suggest how can i edit, already submitted ds 160 and update the last date for previous employer i.e. company A.
