On H1..H4 stamping in Canada

Hello

 

My wife is on H1 currently. I am on H1 with I-140 approved. I have H1 till June 2016.

She wants to convert to H4 so that she could get EAD. Attorney said H1 to H4 conversion is taking lot of time.

 

Can my wife go to Vancouver and get H4 stamping on my current H1 and come back to US on H4 visa? Will that automatically void her H1 and make H4 and eligible for EAD?

More info on my case:

 

She came to US in 2010 on H4 visa stamped in India

Converted to H1 in 2012

Got H1 stamped in India in 2014

Yes, she can go for H4 stamping in Canada though it is better to go to home country. If she enters with a H4 visa she will be eligible to apply for EAD.
