no status update available for the passport number

My case status as below: 
10th june- dropped the h1b visa documents at Stanley office Hyderabad. 
11th June- status updated to ' Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate' 
25th June- status updated to ' There is no status update available for the passport number submitted.' 
29th June - called us visa consulate office Hyderabad, spoke to a person - he said they are working on backlog, I will be notified the status via email/phone. 

Any thoughts on what is going on??
