NaveenAgr
I am applying for my parents' visa. DS-160 asks for Primary occupation of my father. What should I choose - Retired or Other. My father used to do his own business and now living a retired life with some rental income and FD interest income. If I choose "Retired" - how would I be able to show his economic ties with the home country? Any info in this regard would be helpful. Also, for previous work, I am mentioning self-employed and using my brother's address - in the city where we earlier had the business. Link to comment
jairichi
Your dad is retired and do not lie in DS160. What documents would your dad provide showing that he is self-employed? Does he have current returns filing for his business? If asked by VO what would be your dad's answer? Link to comment
MurthyIndia_Lawyer
If you would like to include your father's economic ties in DS160, it is best to choose the appropriate option from the drop down list and explain his ties. Providing inaccurate information or explanation in DS160 may result in visa denial and some instances permanent ineligibility to enter United States. Link to comment
