sridharmandhadi Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Please advise me ,if any one had similar situation. I am having visa on june 30th, i had a DL from texas where it had 2 exp dates, one was my temp visitor status taht expired in 2011 and other date is due untill 2017, last month i have written my drivers exam in CA and while they were issuing my originall license they found that my license in texas was cancelled because of missing legal status docs, i have submitted now but they said to wait until a month, is it a good idea to go without my DL from CA. Thanks, sri.
Aaman786 Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 Go with your written test copy and explain the same if he ask one. Most likely VO ask DL.
hari4basis Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 Hi Sridhar, If you don't mind, can you tell me earliest available visa appointment dates for Vancouver consulate ? Appreciate you help in this regard. Thanks, Hari
hmaster Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 DL is or never was a mandatory doc for H1 stamping...I am sure you can go without one if unavailable...many H1s drive with IDLs when they arrive in the US for the first year, doesn't make it a required doc for visa stamping... A person may or may not have a DL or may have it from wherever....this is not a DMV interview where you...need to prove why you don't have a instate DL... If they raise this question, just give them your genuine response and it should be fine....
Ather Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 U dont need it for interview but u mighth need a id for picking up ur passport after the visa is stamped, from one of the location u selected for pickup.
