trt221gnov14 Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 I have valid VISA for 2 years and planning to travel outside US in a month. By the time I return, my passport will be valid only 4 more months. Is it mandatory to have 6 months of valid passport while entering US? If so, is this applicable for US or any country (other than home country)?
jairichi Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 You can enter US with your current valid passport. But, your I94 will be issued based on passport expiry. Better to get your passport renewed before your travel.
Goluram Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 As Jairichi mentioned, you can travel with this passport but the I-94 validity will have the dates matching to your passport expiration date. If you travel often, then you may renew your passport in US after your return and take a quick trip across border (Canada, Mexico) to get an updated I-94.
