andiamo
Hello, Need your advise if Birth certificate of the sponsor is a mandatory document for parent's visitor visa interview. I have an certified extract from the Registry of births provided by the hospital where I was born. Wondering if that would be good enough, or if I also need an affidavit created and notarized. Thanks Link to comment
jairichi
Your documents are not at all needed for a visitor visa as there is no sponsorship. Link to comment
livliv
If you have your parents names in your passport that is enough. They only need to show it if asked for and it is rarely asked. Certified extract is also okay. Any evidence of relationship is okay. Link to comment
MurthyIndia_Lawyer
In general, a certified extract from registrar of births is sufficient to prove the relationship with applicant in absence of the birth certificate. Though this is not a mandatory document, it may be better to carry the same for interview and can be handy if the consular officer wants to verify the birth certificate. In most instances the consular officer decides a visa application based on information available in DS-160 and what is transpired at visa interview. Link to comment
