Apply for visitors visa when green card is in processing

My uncle had applied for green card under family based category for my mother, now I am looking for applying for a visitor's visa for her, can I apply for visitor's visa for my mother when her green card is in processing? Please advise me here. What are the chances of her getting a B2 visa? Any help would be appreciated.

Your mother can certainly apply. But she will have to answer the 'has an immigrant petition ever been filed for you' question as yes.

With an immigration petition filed it is almost impossible to get a visitor visa.

OP had two questions. About applying for a B2 visa and its outcome. I answered about the possible outcome and you guys are replying positively for applying. So, his questions are answered. And, no one indicated that applying for a B2 visa will affect GC process. It is just the other way around.
