Visit India while H1 Extension is applied

I have my H1-B visa and I-94 till 07-Sep-15. My employer would file an extension by mid Jun. I would need to travel back to India in the month of July for a couple of weeks. So while the extension is filed should I make this personal trip to India before the petition is approved.

Apply for your extension after returning back to US.

 

If you leave US during your H1B extension process, you may not got a new I-94 with the H1B approval. In that case you need to go out of the country , get H1B visa and return back on that visa.

I what sense H1B extension make a difference If I do it from India, or, while in US.
