Converting I-140 from EB3 to EB2

Hi,

I got my I-140 approved in Feb,2011 and my H1-B Extended for another 3-years(i.e., till March,2014)My file is under EB3.I have a 2-YEARS Masters Degree in MBA,3-Yrs Bachelors Degree and IT working experience since April,2000.Can i ask my employer to Convert the case from EB3-EB2?If so,is there any risk to the employer or employee where my employer is having 50-60 employees.

Please advise.
