pdee2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Dear Forum members, your early replies are appreciated. I have a green card through my ex-spouse who was a H1B holder. Unfortunately we divorced. He became a US citizen three years ago. He was a total fraud. My health was failing during the divorce and I was unable to find employment and returned to India every 6months and maintained GC status for the first 5years to qualify for continuos residency. However last year, I had so many health reasons that I had to return to India and be with my parents. I stayed back in India for more than a year now. I got GC in Sept 2008. Maintained status till Jan 2014. After that I was in India. I decided not to apply for Citizenship back then. If I decide to re-validate my GC and go back to the US, will I qualify for Citizenship now? My ex- was a fraud and cheat. Still he got his GC and Citizenship. Please advice me. Thank you.
JoeF Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 You lost your GC, unless you have a reentry permit. And forget about your Ex. Go on with your life.
