decentsambhav@gmail.com Posted April 24, 2015 Report Posted April 24, 2015 Hi, My 6 years on H1-B is about to expire and therefor for my XXX_US company filed my Perm and it got approved and now they are filing my 140. My companies wants me to relocate to Canada. That means I will be a XXX_Canada employee instead or XXX_US employee. Will that effect my green card since I will not be employed by XXX_US company anymore ? What if I got my 140 approved and then move to Canada ? Will there be any issues then ? XXX_Canada company is getting my work visa and PR done to work in Canada. Thanks, Sam
monty4u Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 GC is for future employment but I am not sure if you can work in Canada. Its a good idea to get I-140 Approved as you will retain your priority date and even if you move to a new employer in the future you can port it.
