Applying H4 Visa - Discrepancy in Names in Passport and Marriage Certificate

Hello All,

I work on H1 and got married a few months ago. My wife got her passport recently. In that, her father's last name is spelled incorrectly. It doesn't match with the spelling as mentioned in the marriage certificate.

However, my wife's first and last name are matching with the marriage certificate and so are mine (She got her passport after marriage so it carries my name as well).

 

Can it be an issue if she goes for H4 stamping to a consulate? Is there a solution other than going for the stamping with the current scenario?

She needs to get the passport fixed.

it will not matter for the current stamping..esp given that ur name is also on passport..

 

but better to get it fixed for peace of mind in future and if ur stamping is not this week..
