Vishruti
My husband is filling his DS - 160 form from India My sister is getting married and I have already arrived for the function but he is applying for his Visa now. For the question - Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents, in the United States? Does he need to answer yes - since I am his spouse already in the USA on a visitor B1/B2 Non immigrant status ? Or do I need to answer no ? Also - my passport is not renewed after marriage - so it does not contain my new surname - would that affect this ? Urgent responses would be highly appreciated Link to comment
ashuneel
If you are the only person related to him in the US he can answer NO. Since you are not residing here so he is OK. Link to comment

visa_holder
1. he needs to answer yes since you are his immediate relative in the US and select the category "nonimmigrant 2. Your surname being different should not affect anything. Good luck! Link to comment
Vijay_S
Hi Murthy Law Firm, I am currently in New Jersey & filling DS-160 form for my parents for B2 tourist/visitor visa . My parents don’t have any relatives in US . My Query:- a. Is it Ok to say NO for question —> ‘Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents in the U.S.? ‘ b. What is the meaning of 'not including parents in the U.S ?' Link to comment
JoeF
YOU don't file anything. YOUR PARENTS file. And your parents have an immediate relative in the US, you, their child. So, the answer to that question obviously has to be 'yes". Link to comment
