shekar333 Posted April 10, 2015 Report Share Posted April 10, 2015 Hello! I am an Indian student studying in Italy. I came to USA on J1 Visa under exchange program. Its clearly mentioned that the two years home rule doesn't apply for me. I have verified it with Department of State and they told me that if I find a H1B sponsor in USA I can work here. But the problem is my DS-2019 form will be expired in this December, 2015 and my H1B visa will be approved in April, 2016(I have already found my H1B sponsor). So how to extend my J1 visa for these four months until my H1B visa get approved? My university doesn't extend it anymore. Do I have to change my J1 visa to some other visa for these four months or What is the solution? Please help me with this. Thank you so much.... Link to comment
jairichi Posted April 11, 2015 Report Share Posted April 11, 2015 You can apply for a COS to B2. Later when H1B gets approved exit and enter US with a valid H1B visa and I797. Link to comment
