Prabu.bloomi
I am on H1B visa. Recently I accepted an offer from other employer. My H1b transfer is in progress. My employer is refusing to give latest payslip, also threatening me to pay penalty money(15K) for leaving company. I have not signed any papers which says anything about penalty. But I do signed a sheet of paper which states "Receipt and Acknowledgement of Employee Handbook", never got/read employee handbook from my employer. Need advice : #1 In anyway my employer can take any legal action against me? #2 Do I need to pay penalty? Because, not sure what is written in Employee Hand Book? Link to comment
ashuneel
Do not pay any money. Also you should get your pay till last day. Link to comment
wiweq
Call to DOL, and file a complain at local FBI office. Save your H1b rights using WH4 form on your state's DOL website. On H1b you should be paid all the time. Link to comment
