My opt extension will be completed on 18th July 2015. My company will be applying for h1b this year. I had applied for PhD admissions and got acceptance for fall 2015 in public university in Michigan. Since there is h1b lottery this year I would like to know which option is legally correct pursuing cpt from day 1 for second masters in different university or doing PhD in fall 2015 without cpt. JoeF Posted March 11, 2015 Report Share Posted March 11, 2015 Any institution that offers CPT from day 1 is a fraud. Stay away from such a fraudulent institution. An F1 is for studying, not for working. CPT from day one would kill your career in the US forever. Link to comment
