H4 extension

My Husbands employer forgot to apply my h4 extension along with his H1b. My I94 will be expiring in a week. we will send out the H4 ext packet in a day or two.My question is :

 

• How long to get the receipt for h4 ext ?( I believe there is no premium process for this application type).If I get the receipt after my i94 expiry date..Will I be considered as out of status ?
• Also I heard fed ex receive confirmation is also good enough..But not sure if it is true?

2. Nope. That is not enough. FedEx is private and USCIS is government.
