rajput1
Guys. Please help: 1. Do we need to email the documents or postal mail them to the consulate (if asked) when issued a 221g in Canada? 2. If 221g is issued and I get my passport back from VO, should i stay in Canada and wait for consulate response OR i should visit India and come back to canada on receiving Consulate email? Could there be any problem with second option of visiting india? Link to comment
krishna16
Answer to your first question: Yes, the consulate will email you if the want to check your documents, then you need to email the documents when issued a 221g. Answer to your second question: This depends on which consulate you are visiting in Canada, I know of cases where people got 221g in Ottawa. They stayed there for couple of weeks and were in touch with the consulate. Once their case was cleared and visa was stamped, they returned. Link to comment
rahul.karthik1
In my case when they issued a 221G in Toronto, we emailed them what they asked for. They asked for details and not for specific documents. Regarding the time it took, it took me around 5 weeks to complete admin processing and another 1 week to get the visa in hand. Link to comment
