lionaly
Hi all,My fiance finished his Masters in the US in May- 2014 and had started work in XYZ company in US from August 2014 till date. However his H1 visa is not yet processed and he is currently on F1 OPT.His H1 visa will get processed and activated by October 2015. I am getting married in April 2015 and plan to shift to the US with him in May 2015 through an F2 visa. But after coming across various posts on the forum, I learn that getting an F2 visa while my husband is on his F1 OPT is a little tricky and that the chances of F2 visa denial are high. That apart, i also have plans to study in the US from August 2015, so I will have to get my F2 status converted to F1.Keeping all this in mind, I wanted to know is how difficult is it to get an F2 visa in cases like mine. Is the probability of getting F2 approved really low as it seems in most forums ? And what are the important documents that one must carry for a F2 visa interview. Please helpThanks,Lionaly Link to comment
rahul412
Your best option will be go for F1, if something goes wrong then you can get into US on dependent status either F2 or H4. Link to comment
jairichi
If your spouse has enough resources to support you then you can enter on F2 visa. Link to comment
