2 applications for permanent residency

Hi,

 

Can 2 applications for permanent residency be filed simultaneously?

 

 I have this situation, currently I am on H1-B and my employer has started GC process. Also, my father will become US citizen in few months and want to sponsor me (I am unmarried and above 21 years). My father was sponsored by my elder brother who is a US citizen.

 

In the above case, one petition will be Employer based and other one will fall under Family based preference. I want to check if this is possible at all or not.

Yes, no issue.

There is no problem having both an I-140 and an I-130. When the PD on one of them gets current, you can file an I-485, using the appropriate immigrant petition as basis. Don't file two I-485s.
