OPT STEM Extension RFE

Hi,

 

I graduated in a STEM degree and I had applied for STEM OPT extension. My case status says - Request for Additional Evidence Notice Was Mailed (didn't get it yet). My current OPT work authorization ends end on Jan '15. If I submit the additional documents and I don't get a decision by end of Jan, can I continue to work until they let me know whether it's approved or denied?
