B1overstay
I accidentally overstayed my B1/B2 by 30 days when i realized very late that CBP had given me a 3 month stay rather than the usual 6 months (I have traveled multiple times to the US) earlier this year. It was pure accident and i left the next day i realized this was the case. I have now been admitted into one of the best US schools for my masters and have to apply for F1. Would this overstay cause me issues with F1? I do have time till summer 2015 before i can apply for F1. Should I risk travelling back to US on current visa/apply for a new B1 just to check if i have a flag (I was not stopped at the airport while leaving). What is the best course of action in my case? jairichi
You might be fine. Be truthful to VO when asked about this overstay. Link to comment
