First time H1B Stamping. Need some answers regarding H1B Stamping

Hi all,

 

I recently got my H1B visa approved for 3 years for first time. So my status changed from F1 to H1B from October, 2014. I am planning to go to H1B Visa stamping to canada. Still need to fill DS-160 form and find Visa interview appointment dates but I recently heard that I can't go to any other country beside my home country (India) if I am going to H1B Visa stamping for first time. How true is this??

 

Can i go to Canada for my H1B Visa stamping or need to go to India for H1B Visa stamping??

You can go to Canada but it is always better to go to home country.
