div2014
Hello all, I have received 221g on Oct 9th in Jamaica. I have been waiting for a response from the US consulate, Jamaica all these days in vain. My client wants me to get back ASAP and the fearing of losing my job is getting the best out of me. I am planning to withdraw my case from Jamaica and reapply at an US consulate in India. I have few queries regarding the same. 1) Is it possible for me to withdraw my case from Jamaica and reapply at an US consulate in India? If yes, can I reapply with the same i797? (i have read on forums that we would need a new i797) 2) If I reapply at a different consulate, how likely am I going to get 221g again? 3) If I lose my job during my 221g case processing(in Jamaica or any other consulate), would that impose any issues for my 221g clearance? I would truly appreciate all the relevant advises. Thank you ! Link to comment
jairichi
1. Yes you can. 2. Same. 3. You would need to find a new employer who will file a cap exempt H1B petition. Link to comment
