New L1A/L1B after swithing to a new company

Hi,

 

I'm currently switching from one company to another.  Is there any USCIS regulation that restricts minimum duration one should be working for a company to apply for L1A/B or can I apply for L1A/B right away if the new company is willing to do so?

 

Also do let me know if I can apply for Canada visa/work permit as soon as I switch to the new company or is there any minimum duration for which I should be associated with the company before a WP can be initiated.

Generally have been working for a qualifying organization abroad for one continuous year within the three years immediately preceding his or her admission to the United States.

Do you fulfill this requirement with new company?
