H1b got extended, but booked my visa slot at Jamaica with old I 797 number

Hi,

I have booked my visa on Nov 18th. I am struck in a weird situation now, I got my H1b extended and it is valid from Oct 20th 2014. But I submitted my DS 160 with old I 797 Number, hence I cannot update the DS 160 now and there are no dates available to book a new appointment. Can someone please help me if I can go for stamping with both I 797 and explain my situation to the consulate people (DS 160 has old I 797 number and slot is booked with this DS 160). Does anyone know if they consider such DS 160's with old I 797. 

It would be of great help, if some one can provide suggestions on this.
