Citizenship name change and flight ticket

Hello All,

 

I recently applied for citizenship along with name change. I plan to visit India next year in May and want to book my tickets as I'm getting good travel deal.

 

1. If I get my citizenship by May 2015 (I applied in Dallas), will airlines allow name change on my ticket prior to travel?

 

2. Can I postpone  my oath date and travel with old name? 

 

Which of the two is an easier option? Anyone has experience with name change in international flight travel?

Book the deal with old name. And deal with name change later on. I don't think airline will give you hard time later on. OR just call that airline and ask this question. I wouldn't postpone my citizenship related events for such a small issue.
