DS 160 how to save a copy?

How do you save DS 160 form copy on your desktop once the form is completed online?

I want to save  local copy for future reference

 

Also i tried the 'save to file' option but it doesn't save the DS 160 form to my machine

What is the issue if you use Save to File option?

 

It will save a DAT file on your computer. It is is encrypted you cannot view the information inside. In future create a new DS-160 and upload all existing information using this file.

 

I always use this and it works without any issue.

If we create new DS160 then we would get new Application number then how can we load the old information.

Can you share what exactly you are trying to do?.

After you submit DS-160 you cannot edit anything in it. You have to submit a new DS-160 if you want to change anything.

Yes it will have new DS-160 number but it allows you to upload information from existing saved file, so all the information will be same which you submitted last time you can Edit it before submit.
