laku.narayana Posted September 29, 2014 Report Share Posted September 29, 2014 Hello, I completed master's in 05/2013, My OPT is valid from 07/2013 through 06/2014, I applied for H1B visa and was approved. I requested cap gap i20 and emailed I797A to DSO in the first week of june-2014. DSO replied saying "USCIS did not add cap-gap extension to your record and we've to call the SEVP response center and ask them to have the cap-gap added to your record". Meanwhile DSO gave a supporting letter saying that my i20 record is being maintained in the school and I can work without cap-gap i20. I have been asking for the cap-gap i20 since from june - 2014, DSO is saying "I'm waiting for the response from USCIS". Now I'm planning to go for H1B stamping in November. Is cap-gap i20 required and if so how can I get it?? suggestions please............... Link to comment
