F1 -> OPT -> CPT

Hello Experts,

 

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Dec 2013 while on F1.  I got my OPT to start on Jan 2014 and it will expire in Jan 2015.  

 

However, I could not find a job till end of March 2014 and my employer did not have enough time to process my H1 application.  I am currently employed on my F1-OPT.  I need advice on whether I can extend my OPT beyond Jan 2015 (don't think this is an option) or apply for CPT (not sure if this is something I can do after graduating).

 

Any advice will be greatly helpful.

CPT is a very bad option.

Forget CPT. That will kill your career.

Why OPT ext is not an option??

You cannot work on CPT after OPT...thats illegal.

CPT is not possible once you graduated.

Depending on your field of study, a 17-months STEM OPT extension may be possible. You don't say what you studied.

Thank you all for the advice.  I did my Bachelor's in MIS and extention is not an option since I graduated from the businress school (so dont fall under the STEM category).  What other options do I have?  Please advice.

Either go for master's degree or find H1 sponsoring job.
