Same day visitor visa to canada from New york

My H1B application has been approved and I am looking to get my visa stamped in Canada. I am planning to go to Canada in the 3rd week of October. I want to get a visitor visa and was wondering if there is a way to get a visitor visa to Canada on the same day. If I have all the necessary documents can I walk into the New york Canadian embassy and get a Canadian visitor visa on the same day or next day ? I know Detroit has stopped processing same day approval of visitor visa. I know if we apply by mail it takes 30 days and I dont have that much time. So I need a visitor visa as quickly as possible. And I will be applying from New york . Thanks
