H4 Application

Hello, 

 

I have applied for change of status from F1 to H4. My OPT status expires on 14th September 2014. I had sent out the application package to USCIS, and I got a notification from USPS that my package has reached on 11th September. I called USCIS and asked them if the package has been accepted/reached, and they said there's really no way of knowing that and I have to wait for few days to hear from them.

I'm actually afraid that my application won't be processed/accepted in time before my status expires. Any input or information regarding this would be appreciated.

As you have evidence that USPS delivered to USCIS on 11th Sep, before expiry of 14th Sep, you are safe, in status. Don't worry. Receipt will come thru mail within 1 to 4 weeks.
