How soon can I go for stamping ?

Hello all,

 

I am on OPT and its valid until 07/2015. My H1B got approved and I am planning to go to Jamaica as early as possible for stamping. Can I go in the month of September ? Or do I have to wait until the start date of H1 which is 10/01/2014 ?

 

If yes, what are the pros and cons of it ?

 

I am planning to go to India as early as possible (of course after the stamping). That's the reason for my eagerness to get the H1B stamping done.

 

Can someone please give me your valuable suggestions ?

Hi,

Even Im on the same boat, what I heard from my attorney is you can go for stamping in September as well but the condition here is only on or after October 1st you can re enter in US with you new stamped H1b visa. For that reason I booked my slot on sep29th at calgary.

You can go for visa stamping not more than 90 days before H1B start date and with a H1B you can enter US not more than 10 days before H1B start date.

You can get your H1 at any time. But cannot enter into US on H1 30 days before the start day.

Since you are visiting your home country, get your visa done at that time.
