Shrestha
I am about to file for COS for myself as my H1B expires 09/30/2014. I am wondering If I can start my school (on October 1st)based on receipt of I-539 or I have to wait for my case to be approved? Link to comment
jairichi
Some schools accept a receipt but some do not. You need to talk to your school. Link to comment
Shrestha
Some more clarification - Is it possible that I can start classes on 10/01 (A day after my H1B Expires) even when my Change of Status Application is still under review by USCIS? Link to comment
Shrestha
I have also spoken to an immigration attorney who told me to - fill out my I-539 by myself and mail it to USCIS - & not to use USCIS ELIS system. I a told the process will be faster If I mail my COS application. Is that true? Has anyone heard of experiences where it was faster to NOT to use USCIS ELIS? Link to comment
