I am on OPT extension, expiring Jan 2015.

 

I recently got interviewed. Will the employer be able to sponsor H1B or Green card for continuity of work after Jan?

 

Does the company have to be not-for profit to sponsor at any time?

Cap subject H1B quota for this year is over. Only a cap exempt H1B can be filed by non-profit organizations anytime in the year.

You need to ask that question to your employer. He is the one who is hiring you.

 

Its not mandatory for that employer to be not-for profit.
