IWP Mistake on Visa Application. Can this be rectified?

While submitting his F1 Visa application (for the first time), my brother incorrectly answered 'Yes' to the Interview Waiver Program, and received a confirmation message instantly, asking him to submit his documents to the nearest Document drop-off location.

 

I can see that the system still allows him to continue the application and schedule a timeslot for an in-person interview. Can he simply do this, by ignoring the 'Dropbox confirmation'? 

 

Or do we have to reach out to the Consulate to fix this?
