F1 renewal in Canada

Hello,

 

I am currently a F1 student. Came to US in Jan 2010 and finished my MS in Dec 2012. My F1 visa expired in May 2012 itself. I am presently doing PhD. I want to renew my Visa from Canada. Can anyone suggest me how to proceed with this? Is it difficult to get F1 visa renewed in Canada. I want to know what are the chances of getting my F1 stamped again in Canada. I don't have time to go to India to get it stamped.  I didn't take any OPT in between also. My status is continuous. 

 

My initial F1 processing fell under administrative processing (221G) category. I want to know if it would happen again in my case??

 

I want to know if F1 renewal same as getting a new F1 visa. I am little bit confused of the terminology used. When I called the US embassy in Canada, they told me to apply for a new visa. So, I want to know exact process of getting F1 renewed from Canada.
