Please help! Can I change to F2 while husband's F1 OPT extension is pending?

Hi all, I would like to seek some consultation about my eligibility of filing change of status. Is it possible to file an Change of Status (now I'm in F1 OPT grace period) to F2, while my husband's F1 OPT renewal (STEM 17-month OPT extension) is still pending? Checked with the school's international student office but they have no idea.

As long as your spouse is on valid F1 status with all documents then you can.
